About a week ago we got some news about the slightly modified version of the popular HTC One S that is coming to Taiwan. The smartphone was believed to come with an older Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor but now the presence of the a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor is confirmed. The HTC One S will appear in the European market with a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor. This is amazing; I can imagine the happiness of the HTC lovers in Taiwan. This way the HTC One S seems to be so close to the HTC One X, which is the most popular one in One Series.
As you know the current version of the HTC One S in the US, UK, Japan, Korea, France and Germany is based on a newer dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor produced with Krait cores.
For not confusing the consumers which model is being sold HTC will label the S3 versions of the Android powered smartphone in the markets. This means if you see one labeled as a dual-core 1.7GHz, it’s a Snapdragon S3, while a dual-core 1.5GHz is S4.
May be some people will be bummed by all of this. But notice that HTC is doing its best to meet the demand for the smartphones that rely on the faster and more energy-efficient processors.
