You know that the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE had to be launched on June 21 but then it was delayed and according to some speculations the smartphone should be launched on July 5. Now the date is confirmed by Verizon’s Equipment Guide. The HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE device has a clean bill of health and this delay seems to be connected with Verizon’s inability to figure out where the phone fits in the carrier’s summer lineup.
You may know the Samsung Galaxy SIII will come to Verizon on July 11 and will replace the Motorola DROID MAXX at the top of the Verizon food chain. It seems like Verizon plans to launch the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE first for not putting damper on the sales of the Samsung Galaxy S III. The 16GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy SIII will cost $199.99 with a 2-year contract. This would be hard to find buyers for the mid-level HTC model at the same price. It appears the buyers of the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE will have a $50 mail-in-rebate to take its price down to $149.99. Surely, the $199.99 price in the Equipment Guide does not include the rebate.
By the way, starting from June 28th all those consumers who will upgrade a new smartphone at Verizon will no longer be grandfathered into the unlimited data program.
The carrier entices all of the subscribers with unlimited data out of the woodwork to be exterminated and given a tiered data plan as a replacement.
